Viv Greenwood has done us proud, once again, when her latest information board, this time on the Chantry House, was unveiled on Wednesday, 16th June. The incentive for a replacement board came from the recent dendro dating of its timbers to 1461 by Dr. Dan Miles.
This now gives us firm confirmation that it was the Devene and Elmes families, both Henley merchants, who were involved with this impressive riverside building.
The plaque was unveiled by the Mayor, Cllr Sarah Miller, and attended by Viv Greenwood, the Rector of St. Mary’s, and Cllr. Dave Eggleton on 16th June 2021.
