Nos 27 and 29 Friday Street follows the plan form of the other two inserted houses, (see description for Nos. 19 and 21) creating more rental cottages for the growing labour force of the town.  Nos. 27 and 29 were inserted into the space between the ‘White Lion’ (now Nos. 23/25) and No. 31/33 and the framing of both sidewalls on the west and east sides were used to support the 18th-century slight framing of the infill buildings.
